Located in the eastern mountainous area of Shanxi province, the city of Yangquan is well-known as a gateway from Shanxi to the rest of China, and beyond. Located between Taiyuan and Shijiazhuang, and capital city of Shanxi and Hebei provinces respectively, Yangquan has become the transportation hub of East Shanxi. Yangquan has a long history and rich cultural tradition. In ancient times the city boasted a cluster of springs whose bubbling water inspired the city’s name.
